Håbo Buss is a family-owned and family-run company, founded by the Matsson family. Today, the son Joakim leads the business as CEO, with the same commitment and values as from the start.
Our History
Long history in constant evolution
Håbo Buss was founded in 1990 by Mats and Ingela, starting with two small school buses and an agreement with the municipality. The business began on a small scale with evening and weekend runs, but the demand for larger buses meant that the fleet gradually grew. From two drivers and three buses, the company has developed into a modern group with around 30 buses and 50 experienced drivers.

Åby, our seat
The heart of Håbo Buss is in Åby, Övergran, just outside Bålsta, where our head office and bus garage are located. Both tourist buses and school buses are gathered here, and we run school bus services for Enköping and Upplands-Bro municipalities, among others. Our coaches operate throughout Sweden, with the largest presence in Stockholm and the Mälaren Valley.

Strategic growth
Our journey is characterized by clear goals and long-term decisions. Through strategic acquisitions, we have gradually built a strong and sustainable group with a broad market presence and solid industry experience.
Back in 2003, we took an important step forward by acquiring Stures Busstjänst – Stockholm’s oldest privately owned bus company. This was the start of a growth journey in which each acquisition has played a clear role in strengthening our offering in the market.
Two years later, in 2005, the group was further strengthened when the venerable Knivsta Buss, with roots dating back to 1945, became part of Håbo Buss. Since then, we have welcomed several established players to the Håbo Buss family: Julita Buss (2010) with its broad travel program, Botkyrka Buss (2011), and Ragnesands Trafik (2012).
In 2014, we further expanded the business by taking over Resekompaniet – a company that was later divested in spring 2024. In the fall of 2015, Interbus became part of the Group and contributed to our development until its sale in 2020.
Each acquisition has been more than an expansion – it has been a step towards creating a stronger, more flexible and customer-centric company with the power to meet the needs of the future.

Buses for all needs
We offer a wide range of modern coaches in different sizes, all designed to provide maximum comfort and safety. Our coaches are equipped with DVD, air conditioning and toilet on larger models for a comfortable journey.
Safety is always at the forefront, with seat belts and alcolocks installed in all vehicles. Our fleet can accommodate between 15 and 70 people, allowing us to offer solutions for both small and large groups. We are actively working to reduce our environmental impact by using fuel-efficient buses and sustainable solutions for a greener future.
